Philosophy of Teaching

As Swami Vivekanada says education is the manifestation of perfection already in man. Therefore, the only duty of a teacher or the Philosophy of teaching is to remove obstruction from the way. Nurturing the skills, talent and personality of the student in a positive way is the core spirit behind teaching. Our universities are the workshop where the energetic brain is transformed into an excellent resource for the nation. I am fortunate to have educated in the education system started from Guru-Shishya tradition and recently in the advance technology based environment of IIT and JNU. Therefore, as a teacher, I always try to co-ordinate both approaches on one platform. I have firm believe that one side we should protect our great legacy of guru shishya tradition, in which teacher is not a service provider but true torchbearer of life and on the other side, we should mix it with modern technology-based innovation. So that teaching methodology should be innovative as well as value and relevancy based. I always try to apply this innovative approach in my teaching life. For a subject like Sanskrit, this spirit is inevitable. If I get the opportunity to teach in a good institution, I will try to give my best in the national aim of the knowledge revolution. 21stcentury is the age of the knowledge era. So, we should prepare ourselves to take advantage of it in the national interest. Our University and Teaching Community have to play a very important role in it. I will always try to prove myself able to this great job and legacy.

RESEARCH AT MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY (M. Phil. - JNU)

Shaivism is one of the major Hindu Traditions that worships Lord Shiva. In this tradition, Shiva or Rudra is the Supreme Being. It has different branches, which follow the Yoga & Tantra Tradition too. One of the branches is called Kashmir Shaivism. It was developed in the north part of India.

  • My Master of Philosophy is based on the notion of Pramata ‘The Knower’ in Kashmir Shaiva In the thesis, the seven stages of Pramata have been discussed. The literary references have been examined based on the seven stages of Pramata.

Research @ Ph D (IIT Bombay)

  • The main objective of this research is to present a well-defined and scientific tool to trace, analyze the extension, depth, and frequency of ambiguity of Tatsama (Sanskrit-like) words. It is a herculean task to remove the problem of ambiguity through a computational tool because it demands the artificial intelligence of a computer program which is too far to achieve.

  • The tool OTASH (Online Tatsama Analyzing System for Hindi) can give all the possible details related to semantic changes of a Tatsama It is an open-ended tool. OTASH permits to insert of thousands of more words in the database which are useful for further research. It can be edited, enriched easily.

  • In contemporary times, several words from different languages have been adopted in the Sanskrit language and literature. For example- plegaḥ (plague), rivālhvaraḥ (revolver), paiṇṭaṃ (pant), cāyaṃ (tea), pleṭaphārmaṃ (platform), ṭikaṭaṃ (ticket), klarkāḥ (clerk) {Bhavitavyānāṃ dvārāṇi bhavanti sarvatra, an autobiography by Prof. Satyavrat Shastri p. 301-02}. They are well used in our day-to-day life. The current research focuses on such Tatsama (Same as Sanskrit) words

  • In this research, work focus has been made on Sanskritization (to be brought into Sanskrit corpus) of words taken from different languages, Classification of Tatsama words, and Identification of Ambiguous Tatsama Words.

Designed and Developed Computational Tool: This tool is helpful for Machine translation, as it can identify the Ambiguous Tatsama Words. The multidimensional utility of the Online Tatsama Analyzing
